David Luiz did not take part in training as he is still struggling with a knee problem. Andreas Christensen looks set to start after having a string of outstanding performances this season. Antonio Conte seems to be adamant on squad rotation especially during the busiest time of the season with the Blues having 9 games during the month of December. It is likely we may see a few changes to the starting line up that faced Newcastle on last Saturday.
Chelsea face Qarabag in the group stages of the Champions League tomorrow in Baku, Azerbaijan. Conte will be hoping for a similar result to the 6-0 win at the Bridge earlier in the season, but insists that he respects Qarabag.
“Qarabag have drawn twice against Atletico Madrid and we know very well what a team Atletico is, and also Roma struggled a lot before winning against Qarabag, who are a really good team who play football and try to dominate the game.”
In regards to injury news, Conte said Eden Hazard is fit and there are no new injury problems but Batshuayi, Moses, Kenedy and Musonda remain out.
The Chelsea team looked to be in high spirits during the final training session before their Champions League group stage match against AS Roma.
Antonio Conte called up four Chelsea youngsters to train with Chelsea ‘s first team which includes Ethan Ampadu, Dujon Sterling, Jake Clarke-Salter and Kyle Scott.
Alvaro Morata also trained with the team with Conte confirming that he is in contention to start on Wednesday night.
The Chelsea team have safely arrived in Madrid and there was a light training session for the boys ahead of our Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid tomorrow.
Eden Hazard seem to be in his usual character.
