Chelsea seem to be closing in on appointing Maurizio Sarri as their new coach, whilst agreeing a £57.4million deal for Napoli midfielder Jorginho.
Chelsea have been in discussions with Napoli for months over compensation for Sarri. With 2 years left remaining on his contract, Napoli have already replaced him with highly respected & declorated manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Manchester City were front runners to sign Jorginho but their offer of £48.6m in installments didn’t suffice. Chelsea on the other hand have offered £51.25m up front, with another £6.18m in add-ons. Italian outlets claiming that the fee for Sarri was included in this deal.
It is understood that Sarri will be announced as the new Chelsea coach within the next 48 hours but not before resolving the Antonio Conte situation.
