Lyon have begun their search for a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette and in that vein have opened discussions with Chelsea striker Bertrand Traoré who is currently on loan at Ajax, according to L’Équipe.
OL have been in discussions with the player’s entourage for several weeks and have been tracking his performances for months, aware of his potential long before Lyon faced Ajax in the Europa League semi-finals.
Chelsea have been made aware of Lyon’s interest but have yet to determine their position. Initially, the Premier League champions appeared to be angling for another loan move for the youngster but Traoré wants a straight transfer.
If the Blues give in to Traoré’s request, then Lyon will seek to close a deal for between €15m and €20m.
Lyon are also surveying the situations of Javier Hernandez (Leverkusen), Micky Batshuayi (Chelsea), Kevin Gameiro (Atletico Madrid) and Olivier Giroud (Arsenal).
